To our currently enrolled Project: Learn families,

We are excited to invite you to register for our 2023-2024 program year! We have been working hard to prepare for registration across all of our sites and we are looking forward to seeing you all again next year.

There are a few updates lined up for the 2023-2024 program year, and we want to share them with you so you have the information before you register. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to your site director.

Parent Partnership:

We are excited to partner with you for your child's educational journey. As you know, our project-based learning program is designed to inspire and support children's curiosity for learning, while also emphasizing the foundational importance of reading and academic excellence.

We believe that collaboration between our program and your personal homeschool will provide a unique and valuable learning experience for your child.  We want to ensure that our partnership is successful and that your child is receiving the best education possible. To that end, we have outlined some expectations and guidelines for our partnership in order to keep our child-centric approach.

Accountability & Expectations:

  • Our project-based learning program will continue to support your child's learning experience by providing child-focused, project-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity and exploration. We also offer additional resources and enrichment experiences that complement your efforts at home.

  • We believe in the importance of reading and academic excellence, and will provide resources and support to help your child achieve these goals through a hands-on, skills-based approach.  Our staff is also dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment that fosters a love of learning with your child.

  • We expect our program families to support their child's education by creating a conducive learning environment at home, providing necessary materials, and encouraging a love of learning. As a Project: Learn family, we want to remind you that you are responsible to purchase and implement a curriculum for use at home. We will outline our curriculum plan for in-person learning, and we strongly encourage you to purchase and partake in our weekly academic programming and schedule. We will also provide families with a list of curriculum resources they can purchase for at-home learning.

  • We highly encourage families to attend all scheduled program days and connect with our staff to ensure open communication and collaboration. This is of utmost benefit to your student.

Curriculum Updates:

We are always looking at ways to improve how we support our Project: Learn families. After speaking with parents, instructors, and directors, we have made the decision to return to our BookShark roots. We will utilize their Instructor Guides as our primary curriculum and teaching spine for Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science.

There are several reasons why we have decided to make these changes, but mainly we want to build a solid curriculum structure and see more engagement, in-depth lessons, and hands-on excitement in the classroom. It is also important that we return to a literature-based approach to encourage and support a love of reading. We know that when kids “experience” concepts through project-based learning (PBL), games, and action-learning, they make learning their own and it fuels their curiosity. We believe this will help foster a more natural love of learning.

We will continue to utilize Singapore Dimensions as our primary Math curriculum for all grades TK-8th.

An outline with information regarding the readers, math resources, and optional supplemental materials for at-home learning will be provided at a later date.

Program Dates & Times:

Our program will continue to meet from Labor Day to Memorial Day, and individual sites will continue to meet on this year’s current program schedules. If you have any questions about the program days or hours, please reach out to the site directors for specifics. Site-specific Year-At-A-Glance calendars with program holidays will be made available closer to the fall.

You must also pay a $50 registration fee per child, accept the Tuition Agreement, and place a credit card on file.* Once all steps are complete, your registration is confirmed. You’ll receive the official Welcome to Project: Learn 23/24 email!

You must complete all registration steps to confirm your spot in the program.

*If you are with a charter school, please note that charter school student funds do not cover the registration fee.

Tuition Rate:

Our 23/24 annual program rate is $2550 per year.. This breaks down to $300/month and $150 for December.

Sibling discounts are available for privately paying families.

Monthly Payments & Invoicing Unpaid Tuition:

Your monthly tuition is due by the first of the month. There will be a 10-day grace period for any missing or late private or charter payments, after which time the family will be invoiced for the monthly tuition. We will process the credit card on file for any past-due tuition on day 10, and the student(s) may not be allowed to attend class until the confirmed tuition has been received.

Continued Enrollment:

Your monthly tuition reserves your child’s seat in the classroom. If you decide to step away from our program for a period of time (ie: take a month off for vacation, travel, etc.) we will not be able to hold your child’s seat unless you continue to pay the monthly tuition. Students who leave the program will be given a Withdrawn status. Students returning after a leave of absence are subject to the current waitlist/availability and may be required to pay a re-enrollment fee of $50.

Media Release Update:

As our program has grown, so has the ability to manage the different responses of all of our families concerning their selection on the media release. Beginning this fall, we will no longer offer the option to opt out of the media release. Online safety is very important to us and we will continue to share only appropriate media captured on our program days, field trips, and events through our website, promotional materials, and social media marketing, using extra caution to avoid sharing location information.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out! We look forward to seeing you all again this fall!
