Project-Based Learning

We all know that students are more engaged when learning relates directly to their world. Project-Based Learning (PBL) provides a unique learning opportunity for the students to practice critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and teamwork with other students. When students are encouraged to think out loud, lead and direct project development and implementation and have this ownership, we see them truly own their education.

Project-based learning is a dynamic approach to teaching in which students explore real-world problems and challenges. With this active and engaged learning, students are inspired to obtain a deeper knowledge of the subjects they're studying. When students have the opportunity to “fail” and try again, they also learn an important mindset that helps build emotional resiliency for their futures.

In group projects, resolving conflict is part of the learning process. We know our kids will face conflict in the real world, and this model allows a teacher/mentor the opportunity to coach students through the relational aspects of projects to help kids learn the skills they will need for their future success.

PBL helps students make meaningful connections to the content and apply them to real-world situations.

In our day and age, where it is not about "what you know," students will be more equipped when they know "what you can do with what you know." We think that this is what will give them great opportunities for a future of success!
